About LuraTech

LuraTech delivers software that focus on the conversion and management of scanned documents and digital image content. With a strong belief in value innovation, we develop open, ISO-compliant JPEG2000 and PDF/A solutions that are easy to implement and deliver an immediate return on investment.

Our software compresses, converts, optimizes and delivers images and documents, as well as managing metadata. In addition, we offer exemplary technical support, providing our clients with operational assistance, integration with existing environments, customization and system architecture planning.

In the Americas, we provide solutions to Cangene, the City of Toronto, E-BizDocs (New York State Education Department and Office of Mental Health), Harvard University, Internet Archive (founding member of the Open Content Alliance), Library of Congress, Smithsonian Institution Libraries, Southern Company and the U.S. Air Force. International customers include the BKK ARZ Emmendingen, the City of Stuttgart, the County Bank of Hessen-Thüringen (Helaba), insurance company DAK Hamburg, Germany’s federal printing agency and the Dutch manufacturer Vattenfall.         

Since 1995, we have built our leadership position in the market through strategic partnerships and extensive research on data compression. We have worked with the ISO as contributors, researchers and compliance testers in the JPEG and PDF/A groups. With our expertise in PDF/A, we established the PDF/A Competence Center, which provides extensive support about the standard and its implementation. Additionally, we work with strategic technical partners– such as ABBYY OCR – that offer best-in-breed technology in order to deliver comprehensive solutions to our customers.

We participate in a number of professional associations, including Germany’s Voice of Information, and U.S.-based groups such as AIIM International – the enterprise content management association, the American Library Association and Information Technology Association, ARMA International, Museum Computer Network (MCN), and the Society for Imaging Science and Technology.

LuraTech has headquarters in Berlin, Germany, with a U.S. subsidiary in San Jose, California.
