Cooperation with Alinari: LuraWave.jp2 for the oldest photo archive in the world
Major success for the leading JPEG2000 Implementation of LuraWave.jp2:
The Italian company Fratelli Alinari, that owns the oldest photo
archive in the world, is using LuraWave.jp2 to test JPEG2000
capabilities for digitalizing selected photos of its unique collection.
"We have one of the largest digital photo archives in the world,
enriched recently by the collections of Roger Violet (France),
Interfoto (Germany) and Corbis (US). Many images are available on the
internet so they can be used by professionals and students anywhere
in the world. Therefore it is vital that the photos are of excellent
quality while also having the small size to ensure fast data transfer
and short loading times in the internet. With Algo Vision LuraTech we
have found a professional partner in the area of image data compression
and look forward to the results of the test project," comments
Andrea de Polo, head of the New Technologies Office at
Fratelli Alinari.

Reap the benefits of experience: Workshops with partners and users
In June, two LuraDocument workshops will be held bringing you triple
benefit. In a vivid presentation you are able to learn more about the
advantages of LuraDocument technology and its areas of use. Our partner
will present LuraDocument to you as an integrated solution into his
software. And much more importantly: longtime users will be glad to
share their experiences. In addition to basic issues of archiving,
there will also be a special discussion on archiving in color.

New customers: Decision for LuraDocument and LuraWave.jp2
Many new customers have chosen data compression products from
Algo Vision LuraTech for their solutions, for example:
-
NEC Software is using LuraWave.jp2 C-SDKs to integrate JPEG2000.
NEC Software is also using LuraDocument C-SDK.
-
Waid, France, is using LuraWave.jp2 under a company license
in all its medical imaging solutions, for example DICOM Viewer
-
The Neuss and Dinslaken hospitals are using LuraDocument together
with iMedOne, a product of our partner ITB GmbH.
-
Visus GmbH is integrating LuraWave.jp2 in their PACS System
JiveX for Windows and Linux by means of Java/JNI-SDKs
-
Tensing Geoinformation GmbH will be joining us as a new partner in the
area of geo information systems, with an emphasis on aerial images
Who actually delivers my LuraDocument and LuraWave.jp2?
Only one possible answer: Algo Vision LuraTech GmbH,
Algo Vision LuraTech, Inc. and of course our partners.
Again and again doubts have arisen as to who will continue running
LuraTech GmbH. Following Algo Vision's acquisition of all LuraTech GmbH
rights and agreements in March 2002, however, there is no doubt about
this whatsoever: Algo Vision LuraTech alone has exclusive ownership of
the rights to the top products LuraWave, LuraWave.jp2 and LuraDocument –
and can therefore rightly be called the compression specialist par
excellence.
Talk to us if you need a leading implementation for JPEG2000, if you
require compression for scanned color documents, or if you are a
LuraWave customer!

ImageWork, New York, is the first international proof-of-concept center
The successful concept of regional test centers is now being practiced
on an international level. Until now, potential customers mostly from
Germany have been able to try out LuraDocument for use in everyday
archival activities by bringing in documents to the regional test
centers and using them in simple, very practical tests. Now this is
also possible in the New York area: We are delighted with the recently
opened, first international "Proof-of-Concept Center" at the ImageWork
company in White Plains, New York.
The advantage of the regional test center or proof-of-concept centers
for the customer is obvious: The centers have practical customer
examples for using LuraDocument in the workflow, from scanning to
archiving. The staff at the centers also know LuraDocument from daily
use in their own work, and will be happy to share this experience
with you! So take a few of the documents you would like to archive and
make an appointment to visit ImageWork. Or to another regional test
center near you:
