Come aboard at low prices: LuraDocument.jpm PdfCompressor Medium

The new Medium version of PdfCompressor – as the name says – is designed for companies with a medium volume of documents. Responding to many customer requests, the Medium version thus becomes the third PdfCompressor member of the LuraDocument.jpm family:

PdfCompressor Desktop
is suitable for generating a small volume of high-compression PDFs or if PDFs have to be generated at many locations within the company, e.g. in branch offices.

PdfCompressor Medium
is suitable for the compression of medium volumes of documents. The Medium version already has all of the options for automatic processing that are also offered by the server version, included though is a permanent license for the conversion of 20,000 scans into high-compression PDF files. The Medium version can be purchased at a very affordable introductory price.

PdfCompressor Server
is the high-end version for larger volumes of documents. This version is suitable for service providers, scan service providers and larger projects. The server version offers every comfort imaginable and comes equipped with a cartridge for the compression of 250,000 pages. This version offers an optimal price-per-page ratio.

JPEG2000 and real open standards in the GIS area

JPEG2000 is now going at full speed in the GEO area. As already mentioned in eNews 05/2003, ESRI, Intergraph and other well-known manufacturers are supporting JPEG2000.
By now the providers of traditionally proprietary compression solutions have reacted to market pressure and announced JPEG2000 solutions. However, it is important to consider the details!
Within JPEG2000 there are standardized paths, for example, for metadata and geo-information, e.g. a preferred published solution for using GML that was introduced to the standard by Algo Vision LuraTech.
And now Algo Vision LuraTech has also introduced a paper with the ISO Commission for the use of GeoTIFF tags within JPEG2000. Do not rely on the manufacturer-dependent use of GeoTIFF tags or GML in JPEG2000. Depend on genuinely open standards that offer you both complete compatibility and interoperability.

For your JPEG2000 project, use the expertise and many years of experience of Algo Vision LuraTech, the "JPEG2000 company", and rely on the LuraWave.jp2 GEO Edition!

New reseller for AVGlobalView in Belgium: Vintage Solutions

It was not until December that the exclusive partnership in Belgium between Algo Vision LuraTech and Vintage Solutions was concluded, but already the first order of a well-known customer has been installed successfully. On-site support pays off, because Vintage Solutions not only provides Algo Vision software for video monitoring, but also ensures that the project runs smoothly – all the way to support during on-going operations. The customer is satisfied too. Alain Lauweryns (Managing Director, VINCI Park Belgium): "We are delighted that after a pilot case the previous year, we can count on this worldclass software to reduce costs in the long run at VINCI Park. Further more, these installations will highly affect our security issues internally as well as for the millions of customers visiting us every year." More resellers are still needed:
