LuraWave.jp2 C-SDK Version 2.0: Major improvements in Performance
LuraWave.jp2 C-SDK is a mature product and has been on the
market for years. By means of a large-scale performance offensive and
at great cost, however, the development division has succeeded in
significantly increasing speed and at the same time reducing memory
requirements.
Version 2.0 is at least 20% faster at encoding and decoding. This makes
LuraWave.jp2 C-SDK probably the fastest JPEG2000 tool kit in the world.

But reduced memory requirement and higher performance aren't all.
Version 2.0 now processes even very large files, even without tiles.
And there is now a pure integer option, which makes it interesting for
everyone who wants to port with the source code of the SDK onto other
platforms and processors without floating-point support.
Of course, these improvements are available both in the C-SDK and the
GEO Edition of the C-SDK.
PdfCompressor: New Features and Options, Better Viewing
There are new developments and improvements available in all three
Desktop, Medium and Server versions of the LuraDocument.jpm
PdfCompressor.
High-compression PDFs of the current version are designed so that the
familiar layers of LuraDocument can be viewed individually in the
traditional Acrobat Reader without plug-ins or additional software.
The advantages of better readability of a low-contrast original with
disconnected background layer are now also available in PDF, for example.
Users will also appreciate the minor improvements we have made: All
TIFF dialects of Kodak scanners can now be read, along with a number
of other file formats. Experts will surely appreciate that default
values for dpi numbers are now supported, resulting in even more
highly-compressed files and better quality.

LuraDocument.jpm: Now also availiable for Linux and Solaris
For some time, the LuraDocument.jpm range of products has been just as
extensive as that of LuraDocument, which itself has been
well-established for years. With the release of the C-SDK and
CommandLine tools for Linux and Solaris, LuraDocument.jpm is now
available on the most important operating systems.
LuraDocument.jpm is based on LuraDocument technology which has been
fully developed for years. Thus, a very stable product is available
which is based on many years of experience. With the major advantage
that it is 100% compatible with the ISO standard JPEG2000/Part6.
New Reseller for Switzerland: Viseco AG
Since 1989, Viseco AG has been developing and marketing communications
solutions in the area of combined image, sound and data transmission.
Since March 1, 2004, Viseco AG in Switzerland has been the official
reseller of JPEG2000 products of Algo Vision Luratech GmbH. Thanks to
this partnership, all interested parties from Switzerland are assigned
to a competent local contact person with many years of experience in the
area of image compression. As a cooperative effort with the partner
eMaert, Viseco AG is also available as a regional testing center for
evaluating the performance of the new products or for consulting on
questions about implementation in your own applications.
The search is on for resellers in several other regions:

- Rheinmetall, Germany is using the LuraWave.jp2 GEO Edition
- Digital Rapids, Canada uses a LuraWave.jp2 package for streaming products
- Docutec AG, Germany uses the bitonal layer from the LuraDocument.jpm C-SDK to improve OCR recognition rates for a major client
- EADS RACOMS relies on LuraWave.jp2 for image transmission via short-wave
- BAE Systems, USA is developing applications on LuraWave C-SDK
- Schilling Computersysteme, Germany is using LuraWave.jp2 C-SDK to integrate JPEG2000 into its Dental Vision product
- Netimage, France is integrating LuraWave.jp2 into the 2KAN JPEG2000 Workstation
- INTA, Spain, relies on the LuraWave Geo CommandLine tool
- The city of Duesseldorf uses LuraDocument.jpm with the LinkBase product of our partner ReproZentrum Rosenberger
- Sightspeed, USA uses LuraWave.jp2 for its Video Messenger
- Salent Technologies, UK uses LuraWave.jp2 for decoding JP2 files that were created with the Analog Devices ADV202 chip
