LuraDocument JPM/PDF for Kodak Capture software: Request demo now!
During the CeBIT the LuraDocument JPM/PDF Exporter for the Kodak Capture
Software (CS) was introduced for the first time to the public and
encountered large interest. Now the modul is released and can be
requested as demo version on our website and can also be licensed as full
version.
The LuraDocument JPM/PDF Kodak CS Exporter which intergrates itself
smoothly into the Capture Software enables the users to export scanned
documents highly compressed with optimal quality directly from the Kodak
Capture Software. In doing so the user can select apart from all well-
known setting possibilities whether he would like to produce JPEG2000/
Part6 files (JPM-format) or the LuraDocument PDF files generated with the
methods of JPEG2000/Part6. The last-mentioned can be viewed without any
additional software or plugins in the Acrobat Reader starting from version
5. In both formats - LuraDocument JPM and LuraDocument PDF - scanned
documents are divided into three layers and each layer is compressed with
a compression process which is optimal coordinated to it. This principle
has been standardized as 'multilayer compression' for document compression
by the ISO as JPEG2000/Part6. As option for the black/White layer there is
also JBIG2 available besides fax G4 compression.
The modul works optimally both for black-and-white originals (JBIG2
compressed PDF) and for gray scale documents as well as for full-color
documents. Apart from the enormous compression rate and the excellent
quality, with the segmented black/white layer one receives the optimal
cleaned original for a following OCR. Increased recognition rates are a
further effective cost advantage.

information about products and our enterprise in the respective national
language for Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Individual and easy to understand

LuraDocument, contact Mr. Thomas Zellmann:
IS&T Archiving Conference: JPEG2000, the Archiving and Access format
From April 26th to 29th, 2005 the second IS&T Archiving Conference
takes place in Washington, DC, which LuraTech attends among other things
with the lecture 'New File Formats in Archiving: JPEG2000, High Compressed
PDF, JBIG2 with Real World Examples'. The lecture explains among other
things why JPEG2000 as 'digital original' is an optimal storage format for
scanned originals of libraries and archives. It also explains that with the
features 'progressive decoding' and 'region decoding' JPEG2000 can be used
as access format at the same time. Further access formats like JPEG2000/Part6
and LuraDocument PDF will be presented in particular against the backround of
the optimal transcoding. Certainly the meta data storage will come up, too.
Everyone who manages to come to Washington, DC within the period of the
cherry blossom should not miss the lecture on April 29th at 10:30h.
Everyone who will not be able to come can reread the concepts here:
