and archiving area in hall 1, booth K71. See our show highlights:
PDF/A for long-term archiving - LuraTech presents products
One of the show's highlights is PDF/A which became the ISO standard for
long-term preservation end of last year. Now there's a lot demand
for information since PDF/A is the first file format designed to cover the
needs of long-term archiving.
Long-term archiving has special requirements to a file format:
It may not be proprietary but must be under control of an independent commitee.
Documents in a digital archive need to be rendered identically over time
and several generations of hardware. The file format should be kept simple
and contain version information and standardized meta data.
PDF/A exceeds all this requirements! It is ideally suited for any type of
document from any source and frees you from all the limitations of a TIFF
based archive. PDF/A is full-text capable and can handle color as well as
black/white scans. Other documents like MS Office files or CAD drawings can
also be converted to PDF/A and be archived in a common format.
LuraTech is one of the first vendors to offer PDF/A compliant products
for scanned documents. The well-known LuraTech solutions LuraDocument
PDF Compressor Server and LuraDocument PDF for KODAK Capture Software
support PDF/A now!

Business Solutions: Financial Services
On this year's CeBIT LuraTech shows a variety of products for
financial service companies. LuraTech focusses on digitizing
scanned documents and archiving them audit proof and close to
the original.

and BKK Emmendingen as well as banks like the Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen
(Helaba) opted for LuraTech solutions.
Financial institution use LuraDocument e.g. for full-color storage of
scanned credit files or checks. Insurances are moving towards the
digital archiving of color photographies, medical documents and
diagrams, prescriptions and reports which hasn't been possible with
black/white archives.
LuraTech helps financial service companies to optimize their digital
inbox, document management systems, and digital archives by offering
ISO compliant JPEG2000 and PDF/A solutions.
Business Solutions: Archives und Libraries
More and more libraries start to digitize their assets.
Driven by major scan activities by Google and the Open Content
Alliance - a coorperation of Microsoft, Yahoo, Internet Archive,
among others - the number of projects grows continuously.
At CeBIT LuraTech shows OCR workflow products for the automatic
processing of scanned documents. Lossless JPEG2000 compression
and award-winning ABBYY OCR technology is applied to create
full-text capable and high compressed PDF files, e.g. from scanned
books. The Open Content Alliance successfully adopted LuraDocument
for their huge book scanning project and processes several thousand
pages a day.
Furthermore LuraTech shows a pre-release of a brand new Image and
Content Server. It enables you to provide easy and efficient access
to your scanned documents over the intra- or internet. All you need
is a common web browser, there's no need to install any plug-ins.
The server's image conversion technology enables you to flip pages
just like in a real book and zoom into every detail of a page. The
Image and Content Server automatically converts a variety of meta data
formats for easy display in any web browser.
See the future of image delivery and visit us in hall 1 booth K71!
