With LuraDocument.jpm PdfCompressor Desktop, scanned color documents can be saved quickly and easily as PDFs.
Algo Vision LuraTech GmbH, one of the leading
developers of compression technology for images and documents as well
as JPEG2000 implementations, has expanded its successful LuraDocument.jpm
range with a further high performance compression tool: the brand-new
LuraDocument.jpm PdfCompressor Desktop. The PdfCompressor Desktop is an
application for Windows which allows scanned documents to be converted into
highly compressed PDF files for color archiving. The application uses the
same compression engine as LuraDocument.jpm, guaranteeing excellent image
quality for very high compression rates. Small and medium sized businesses
are thereby offered an excellent, user-friendly tool for the color
archiving of documents.
It's easy: one mouse click is all it takes to activate the PdfCompressor
Desktop. A dialogue window then opens in which the user may select the file
to be compressed. The file standards TIFF, JPEG, BMP and PNM are supported
as input formats. One simple click on start and the document is converted to
PDF format in seconds. The PdfCompressor Desktop stores the new file either
next to the original or in a folder defined by the user. The PdfCompressor
Desktop is recommended for small to medium sized document volume or for the
decentral creation of PDF files, e.g. directly at the workstation, on mobile
computers, in branch offices, and for digital document filing or digital
mailroom in smaller and medium-sized businesses. Following conversion, the
PDF files can be opened using standard Acrobat Readers without plug-ins or
additional software, making them available 24 hours a day, anywhere in the
world.
The new LuraDocument.jpm PdfCompressor Desktop is part of the LuraDocument.jpm
range, the proven and highly professional tool set for the compression of
scanned color documents. LuraDocument.jpm enables scanned documents containing
both image and text components to be archived in a highly compressed manner
and, at the same time, with excellent type and image quality. In the process,
text and image components are segmented into text, fore- and background layers
and compressed separately, each with the optimal algorithms. This results in
lower requirements for storage space as well as faster data transmission times.
LuraDocument.jpm compresses files in the new ISO standard JPEG2000/Part6
(.jpm standard). The LuraDocument.jpm PdfCompressor also allows the conversion
of files into PDF format - naturally with the same excellent compression
results.
In addition to the "desktop" version, the PdfCompressor is also available as
a "server" version. The server variant automatically monitors input directories,
compresses the files contained there and stores them in defined output
directories. This tool is ideally suited for higher levels of receipt
accounting and for integration in the document imaging workflow, particularly
for work groups or in the standard capture process. The LuraDocument.jpm
PdfCompressor Server runs as a Windows® service and is can therefore also
be securely used in server operation.
The desktop version of the LuraDocument.jpm PdfCompressor is now available at
a price of EUR 199.00 / $ 238.80 under www.luratech.com. In
addition, a free test version can be downloaded which demonstrates the
capability and functionality of the program.
