PdfCompressor Medium:
Due to widespread demand, Algo Vision LuraTech launches a new PDF
tool for the archiving of scanned documents in color.
From now on, companies with a medium-sized document volume can use a new compact
tool for the central archiving of their color documents in highly-compressed PDF
format. With the new PdfCompressor Medium, Algo Vision LuraTech, a leading
provider of compression software technology for images and documents as well as
JPEG2000 implementations, expands its successful LuraDocument family with a
further tool from the PdfCompressor series.
Already in autumn 2003, Algo Vision LuraTech successfully launched a complex
server version as well as an easy-to-use desktop variant of the high performance
conversion tool PdfCompressor. While the server version has been designed for
very large companies, such as scanning service providers who want to centrally
digitalize 250,000 documents or more in highly compressed PDF format, the
PdfCompressor Desktop is ideally suited for a small or medium-sized document
volume or businesses which would like to store single documents decentrally as
PDF files. Due to the
widespread demand from companies for whom the server version's performance
volume is too extensive but who would still like to compress their documents as
PDFs centrally, the JPEG2000 specialist Algo Vision LuraTech now introduces the
perfect intermediate solution. The new PdfCompressor Medium includes a license
for the PDF conversion of 20,000 pages.

PdfCompressor Medium closes a gap in the market. Now our compression technology
can also be used for archiving projects with medium-sized document volume, and
at a very attractive cost-effectiveness."
All products from the LuraDocument family enable scanned color documents in
containing image elements and/or text to be saved as PDF files, both with a high
level of compression and, at the same time, excellent script and image quality.
In the process, text and image components are compressed into text layers, while
fore- and background elements are segmented and compressed separately with the
optimal algorithms using new ISO standard JPEG2000/Part6.
The PdfCompressor Medium is now available at a price of 990,- Euros at
www.luratech.com and can
also be obtained from international partners such as the Swiss company PDF Tools
AG.
