Applying the concepts of MRC layered document compression to the Adobe PDF standard, LuraTech created the PDF Compressor. This was the first workflow solution that LuraTech built on top of its software development kits. |

LuraTech participated in ISO Standardization Committees, which ratified the JPEG2000 standard. Through LuraTech’s leadership, the committees evolved their focus from proprietary solutions to developing solutions based on open standards. The result: Parts 1 and 6 of the JPEG2000 standard that applied to wavelet compression and document segmentation technology became standardized formats (.JP2 and .JPM). LuraTech developed a JBIG2 solution to compress black and white documents and binary compression layer within the .JPM document compression solutions. |

LuraTech developed segmentation technologies to deal with scanned documents containing mixed raster content (MRC), resulting in the creation of LuraDocument LDF, a proprietary document format for the compression of scanned documents. |

LuraTech originated as part of a joint project with the University of Berlin designed to bring wavelet compression techniques to still digital images. The partnership resulted in the creation of the proprietary LuraWave wavelet-based compression technique, which was sold as software development kits and services. |
