DocYard® Product Details

Scanning projects are becoming more and more complex and the demands at service level are becoming fiercer and fiercer. On the other hand, resources are becoming more and more expensive. The stated aim must be to get the best out of all production tools. At LuraTech, we are convinced that this goal is achievable, even with regard to the necessary capital investment - providing the right software is adopted and the right partner is chosen.

We have developed DocYard especially for Scan Service Providers. There is no other such software for seamless integration of all automatic and manual process steps. Certainly not with Scan Service Provider-oriented production reporting which also delivers data for production planning. Whether dealing with digital production steps or manually handling paper. We call this production software for Scan Service Providers! In a word: DocYard.

DocYard’s introduction usually takes place step by step, project by project. Even the very first project will generate integrated modules which can easily be used again in any and all further projects. Every step you take with DocYard leads to lasting improvements in production processes. The end result is a fully integrated production environment.

We know from our own experience that investments with a given budget must lead to bespoke, useable solutions. On one hand, DocYard reduces the amount of individual programming work required; it is designed as standard software with its functions and modules tailored towards production management for scan service providers. On the other hand, existing, individual pieces of infrastructure can be integrated with a manageable level of customising and individual programming work. DocYard projects are therefore implemented within specific deadlines and budgets, regardless of whether our professional service team or the scan service provider itself carries out the project.

Our license models are adapted to the demands of the Scan Service Provider’s projects. With the DocYard Utility Model, we even go so far as to make our own financial success dependent on that of our customer.

In Detail:

The DocYard Cockpit provides administrators and production managers with an easy-to-use tool which can be used without any great training cost or specialist IT or programming knowledge. Production workers continue to work with their usual user interfaces, since existing tools such as manual data entry can be integrated into DocYard.

DocYard is highly scalable. It can be run on a single computer, for example to manage an individual project. If the production environment is fully integrated into DocYard, then the DocYard cockpit can also control entire computer farms. It is therefore possible to provide any level of performance capacity required for the diverse functionality of the DocYard modules, such as classification, OCR or quality control workstations. Hence, DocYard is equally suited for processing all jobs, whether dealing with small or very large numbers of documents.

Workflows and jobs can be created, selected or edited in a graphical interface without any programming required. New projects or changing demands can therefore be quickly implemented and put into action using the DocYard platform.

Integrating production with the DocYard platform means all production data is fully logged in a central location. Reports of all process steps can therefore be generated very easily. The standard version of DocYard alone guarantees integrity checking and service level agreement monitoring. Further reports provide production data evaluation tailored to the user, in order to obtain data for production planning, costing or billing purposes.

In order to ensure cost-effective document processing at all times, all ongoing jobs managed by the DocYard system are centrally monitored in real-time. The performance of ongoing jobs can therefore be continuously improved, and costly resources can be used optimally.

DocYard modules can execute completely automatically or display manual steps such as quality control jobs using a user interface. It is therefore possible to integrate existing workstations, such as incoming goods, document check-in, manual indexing, data entry or quality control workstations with DocYard. Alternatively, our standard DocYard modules – the Incoming Goods Client, the Track-&-Trace Client and the QA Client – can be used directly.

The DocYard Cockpit immediately shows at a central location whether documents are, for example, piling up at specific workstations. It is possible to immediately react to this in the Cockpit by quickly and flexibly assigning additional resources to the task - even in the form of manual workstations. The complete integration of manual and automatic process steps leads, thanks to a seamless flow of activity, to large performance gains, greater reliability and considerable cost savings.

DocYard is standard software with clearly-defined, simple interfaces for integrating modules and functions. An alternative OCR system, for instance, or other functions, can be installed very quickly. All mechanisms, including monitoring, reporting and co-ordination with other modules in the workflow, are organized by DocYard. DocYard is therefore considerably more modular, more flexible and more reliable than individual solutions which rely on scripts and individual programming of single components. DocYard-based production environments can be quickly, flexibly and cost-effectively adapted to changing document processing demands.

Production environments built on the DocYard platform are seamlessly integrated, completely centrally managed and highly automated. Scan service operations are therefore reliable, cost-effective and consistently higher in quality. DocYard’s low implementation and operating expenses mean that it generates a very rapid Return On Invest, considerably increases productivity and ensures lasting competitiveness.

For these reasons, we call DocYard production software for Scan Service Providers.
