LuraTech Introduces PDF Compressor 5.3
Offers Support for Unstructured Form Recognition and Processing of Born Digital Documents
LuraTech has enhanced its industry leading document conversion solution with a number of new features, such as unstructured form recognition and the ability to convert born digital documents to PDF/A for long-term archival. LuraDocument® PDF Compressor 5.3 now provides users – from individuals to the largest document scanning service providers – with a comprehensive solution that can handle all their document conversion needs.
Key new features of PDF Compressor 5.3 include:
- Free-Form Recognition – The improved Form Recognition Module now includes unstructured form – or free-form – recognition, which eliminates the need for manual processes, such as pre-sorting, and supports streamlined conversion of complex, multi-page scanned documents and forms. With this module, users can sort a wide variety of documents; read and extract the appropriate information from the documents; and then prepare it for input into other applications, such as merchandise management or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Born Digital Module – This optional module is designed to convert born digital documents – such as Microsoft Office, Outlook e-mail and PDFs – into PDF/A format for long-term archiving. With this module users can easily batch process digital files, in the same way that scanned paper documents can be processed with the PDF Compressor.

Webinar 1: Increase ROI with Unstructured Form Recognition

Webinar 2: Born Digital to PDF/A Option for Long-Term Archiving
The second part of our webinar series will cover the conversion of born digital documents to PDF/A, specifically addressing the fundamentals of PDF/A for record managers and offering support to IT departments for any organization interested in retention and archiving. During this webinar, participants will learn:
- How to batch process born digital documents into PDF/A. Examples of our application include converting e-mails into PDF/A for long-term archival and compliance.

Nestor Closing Event at the National Library in Berlin
