LuraDocument JPM is the world’s first implementation of the new ISO standard JPEG2000/Part6 for the compression of
scanned color documents containing both bitonal elements (such as text and technical drawings) and images. Text and
image components are segmented and compressed separately, each with the optimal algorithms. In the process, the
bitonal layer is stored losslessly in Fax Group 4 format,while the fore- and background layers are compressed using the
JPEG2000 standard. This combination provides an excellent visual and script quality at an extremely small file size.
LuraDocument JPM is particularly suited for use in document management systems (DMS) and geo information
systems (GIS).

LuraDocument PDF uses the same technology as LuraDocument
JPM for partitioning a document into three segments containing text,
fore- and background images. Compressed documents are stored as a
standard PDF file instead of an ISO compliant JPM file. Files
created with LuraDocument PDF can be viewed in Acrobat
Reader 7.0 and 6.0 as wellas in Acrobat Reader 5.0 using the comaptibility
mode without installing any additional plug-in.

LuraDocument JBIG2 is the easy-to-integrate, high performance
implementation of the new ISO/IEC standard 14492.
JBIG2 is a technology developed by the JPEG group
especially for the compression of black/white content.
Thanks to higher compression ratio it will supersede the today
widely used Fax G4 technology for compressing documents (TIFF
Fax G4) and layers of multi-layer documents for mixed-raster
content. LuraDocument JBIG2 allows both lossless and
lossy compression and therefore perefctly aligns with your
quality and file size needs.

LuraDocument LDF represents an innovative compression software custom-tailored
to the compression of scanned color documents composed of both images and text. The documents
are partitioned into pure picture and pure text segments through the use of its
state-of-the-art segmentation algorithm. Each of these segments is then compressed using an algorithm
optimized for this type of data. As a result, scanned color documents can be stored at extremely high
quality despite small file sizes. LuraDocument LDF is capable of reaching compression rates of 1:150 to
1:500 while still preserving full readability of the text and excellent quality of the pictures.
