Electronic Document Tool Kits

LuraTech’s electronic document tool kits enable developers to quickly and cost-effectively integrate best-in-class color and black-and-white document compression into their own applications.  These tool kits leverage LuraTech’s award-winning Mixed Raster Content (MRC) layered compression technology, enabling applications to work with PDF, PDF/A, JPEG2000 Part 6 (.JPM) file formats and JBIG2 code streams.

  • LuraDocument PDF and PDF/A
    • Software Development Kits: These SDKs enable integration of MRC layered compression into any C/C++ or .Net-based applications.
    • LuraDocument PDF Compressor: Converts scanned color and black-and-white documents into highly compressed PDF and PDF/A files.
  • LuraDocument JBIG2
    • Software Development Kit: Designed specifically for compression of black-and-white content, this ISO/IEC standard 14492 SDK supersedes the widely used Fax G4 technology for compressing documents and layers of multi-layer documents for MRC. This software development kit enables both lossless and lossy compression in order to align with users’ quality and file size needs.
    • Command Line Tool: This shell executed program is capable of compressing large numbers of black and white scanned documents and converting them to the JBIG2 file format within scripted workflows and processes.
    • Source Code: This independent source code allows for recompiling on any type of platform.
  • LuraDocument JPM (JPEG2000/Part 6)
    • Software Development Kit: Designed for use in document management and engineering drawing systems, this is the industry’s first implementation of the ISO-standard JPEG2000/Part 6.  The software development kit enables compression of scanned color documents containing bitonal elements and images. Output combines excellent visual and script quality at an extremely small file size.
    • Command-Line Tool: This shell executed program is capable of compressing large numbers of color, grayscale and black and white scanned documents and converting them to the JPEG2000 Part 6 (.JPM) file format within scripted workflows and processes.
