LuraDocument® PDF/A

PDF/A offers assurance that documents archived in that format will maintain their appearance and readability regardless of which applications and systems were used to create them.  LuraDocument PDF/A products create and validate PDF/A documents from all business documents, regardless of whether they are generated from scanned documents, electronic documents produced in MS Office or CAD applications, or pure data streams, such as XML or AFP.

LuraTech’s PDF/A solutions include:

LuraDocument PDF Printer:
With a few simple mouse clicks, this virtual printer converts electronic documents from any application into PDF/A files.

LuraDocument PDF Validator: This tool tests and certifies that all PDF files meet PDF/A standards, to ensure files are structured properly and the visual appearance will reliably reproduce.

LuraDocument PDF Compressor: Integrating easily into document imaging workflow, this product family enables conversion of color, grayscale or black-and-white scanned documents into high-quality, highly compressed PDF and PDF/A files using LuraTech’s best-in-class MRC technology. They also offer an integrated ABBYY OCR engine for full text search capabilities in all PDF and PDF/A files.

Benefits to archiving documents with PDF/A include:

  • Standardized Format: As a non-proprietary ISO file format standard, PDF/A makes future system upgrades and migrations considerably easier and safer, while eliminating the need for numerous viewing applications in the future.
  • Ease of Use: Archives developed entirely on the basis of PDF/A require a single non-proprietary viewing application, which enables users to easily open folds and complex files and search their content.
